Ken often tells his clients that anything strong in this world is built on a foundation of hard work and persistence and is guided by belief, integrity, gumption, and compassion. Serving as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Ken echoes this philosophy when building customized plans for his clients and helping them make informed decisions about their future. He follows the Financial Planning Process as approved by the CFP® Board to get to know his clients on a deeper level and spends an extensive amount of time with them. Primarily, he pursued a career as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional to utilize his energy to help people. He is passionate about helping others in the community and finds it amazing how his support can have such a powerful impact on others.

As a CFP®, Ken plays a vital role in the successes of many families, entrepreneurs, and established businesses. His mother always used to tell him, “don’t forget to shine” which he took to mean don’t be apathetic about your work. This is the one of the reasons why Ken has found success and enduring relationships throughout his many years in the industry. He never takes the easy way out and considers himself energetic, compassionate, and positive.

Born and raised in Durango, Ken left and received his B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder and traveled the world for two years. When coming back to the United States, Ken realized there is no place more beautiful than the Western Slope of Colorado and the surrounding areas. Ken is passionate about his values and that is why he works for the economic development of small businesses, women, and public servants. He does this by volunteering with the Durango Chamber of Commerce and the Durango Diplomats. He is also actively involved on the Board of Directors of the 100 Club Durango, which promotes a safety net for police and fire department employees who risk their lives for the community. In addition to his involvement in the Durango community, Ken is also an advocate for women’s rights and volunteers with different women's support groups in La Plata County.

When not in office, Ken enjoys hiking with his dog, Panda. He is also very passionate about sailing, reading, music, art, and traveling. Two of Ken's biggest adventures have been sailing around Australia and riding a tour bicycle, unassisted, from China to India.
